Sheriff’s Investigators from the Loma Linda Station began an investigation and on August 30, 2011 the District Attorney filed eight felony counts for Forcible acts of Sexual Penetration, Sexual Battery, Assault with the Intent to Commit Felony and Crimes Against Elder Adult.
During July of 2011 a 32 year old female went to the Urgent Care East Campus seeking treatment for chest pain and was seen by the attending doctor, Ramon Fakhoury. Two days later, the female victim contacted to Loma Linda staff to report that she had been sexually assaulted by Fakhoury during the exam.
While staff began to investigate this claim, another doctor informed them that he had been advised by a 68 year old female patient that she too had been assaulted by Fakhoury during an exam.
The victims’ accounts of the assaults indicate they took place within a 24 hour period in early July.
Detectives contacted Fakhoury and he turned himself in to West Valley Detention Center and bail has been set at $1,000,000.
Fakhoury has been licensed to practice medicine for six years in the state of California and Ohio. Detectives located records that indicate he has medical offices in Rancho Cucamonga and Norco. Fakhoury is not a full-time physician at Loma Linda University Hospital, he is contracted to work part-time shift work.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and urge anyone with information to contact Detective Mark Hubbard or Detective Ken Green at (909)387-3545.
The State Medical Board is conducting a separate investigation.
